Oriental White marble, Dongfang Bai in Chinese and often sold as Asian Statuary or China Statuario, is quarried in the Longdong area of Baoxing County, Ya'an, Sichuan Province. It has a milky white background with soft grey “snow mountain” veining and a fine, slightly translucent crystal that polishes to a smooth, almost glazed surface. The same district produces Pure White marble, known in China as Sichuan White Jade: a near-solid white with a faint warm tone.

Both stones are hard-wearing enough for floors and stair treads and refined enough for hotel lobbies, museums and high-end homes. In natural stone since 2005, we supply them as slabs, marble tiles, subway tiles, mosaics, mouldings, vanity tops and cut-to-size pieces, processed at our own factories, checked piece by piece and shipped from Xiamen, from a single crate to full containers.

A milky white background with light grey veins that drift across the stone in soft, feathery bands. The veining is gentler than Italian Statuario or Carrara, so large floors and walls look calm rather than busy, while the crystal gives polished pieces a deep, almost glazed shine.
Sichuan White Jade, also called Han White Jade (Han Bai Yu)
An almost solid white with a faint warm, ivory tone and very few marks. Top grades are fine-grained, dense and slightly translucent, with a soft lustre that reminds people of white jade. The surface feels smooth and cool to the touch, and a sound piece gives a clear ring when tapped.
Oriental White has long been specified for buildings where the finish must last and look refined: hotels, airports and railway stations, museums, theatres, libraries, shopping malls and offices. Typical uses are wall and column cladding, floors and stair treads, reception counters, door surrounds, wainscoting, window sills, skirting and balustrades. In homes it is most popular in bathrooms and kitchens.
Prices vary widely between standard tiles and premium slabs, and most of the difference comes from grade, not size. Compare the whiteness of the background, how much grey veining each piece carries, thickness tolerance, and the accuracy of cutting and polishing. Before shipping we send photos of the actual slabs, or of a dry lay of the tiles, so you can approve the colour range.
We supply full slabs in 18–20 mm and 30 mm, floor and wall tiles in 12x12, 12x24, 6x12, 4x12 and 3x6 inch or metric sizes, mesh-mounted mosaics, borders, pencil liners and mouldings, vanity tops, window sills, thresholds and other cut-to-size pieces made to your drawings.
We hold a shareholding in an Oriental White quarry in Baoxing, so blocks come from a source we know well. They are selected at the quarry, sawn into slabs on gang saws, then calibrated, polished or honed and inspected piece by piece in our factories. Project floors can be dry laid and numbered before packing. Goods are packed in export wooden crates and shipped from Xiamen, quoted FOB or DDP to your door, from a single crate by LCL to full containers.
Like all natural marble, Oriental White and Pure White Jade should be sealed after installation, especially in kitchens and wet areas, and cleaned with a pH-neutral cleaner.
